Information Wikis such as Wikipedia and Wikileaks put huge quantities of information in the public domain and make sensorship largely ineffective.
The downside on Information Wikis is that the 'information' offered may indeed be misinformation.

Features of Wiki Sites

Wiki sites are individual and part of the chaos of intellectual freedom that is the Internet. However common features include

  • Advanced software allowing anyone to contribute without the need to understand Computer Languages or Jargon.
  • A structure of membership allowing contributers to tell other members something of their life and times.
  • Levels of information - in our case Articles, Comments, Forum Items and Blogs - to oganise the site.
